I began my Make-up artistry education by going to Cosmetology school. I moved to NYC and got my first job in the field working on Fifth Avenue, in TV and on Industrial Videos.
I became involved
in the AZ State Film Commissions' efforts to bring more film into the state when jobs were scarce and I was not working for
a local photographer or traveled to California and other states to secure jobs.
Large budget films started to pour into AZ in the mid 90's and they brought their own makeup department with them. So, I was asked to work on several of these productions as an On-Location Massage therapist, my second job. I continued to do Make-up for Industrials, Commercials, and out-of-state Independents, adding Hair and Wardrobe to my repertoire along the way. And got a taste for working in other positions such as casting assitant, talent and learning PA on the set.
I am very grateful and thrilled to be asked to work in the film industry, which I cut my eye teeth in. And being a part of a team effort that makes creating something that it is worth being seen, worth being a part of an industry that has to pull its boot straps up when the going gets tough and just keeps right on moving forward.
